Griffith Announces $25,000 Grant for Abingdon EDA Project

The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded the Town of Abingdon a $25,000 grant for an Economic Development Authority (EDA) project. The funding will support a strategic planning project to assess workforce development and housing challenges. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“The Town of Abingdon is exploring opportunities to expand affordable housing and fuel business growth.

“This ARC grant for $25,000 helps Abingdon develop a strategic plan to address the area’s workforce development and affordable housing landscape.” 

BACKGROUND

This project will also help establish key partnerships and secure resources for workforce housing and business growth.
