Washington, D.C. — Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement on the passing of labor leader Dolores Huerta:
“Today, we sadly mourn the loss of Dolores Huerta, a leader in the American labor movement and a champion for civil rights who lead with courage and determination.
“Her rallying cry, ‘Sí se puede,’ inspired generations of Americans to believe in the power of collective action. May it be a comfort to her family and loved ones that so many mourn their loss and are praying for them at this sad time.”
