Congressman Baird Statement on West Virginia National Guardsmen Shot in Washington, D.C.

Today, Congressman Jim Baird (IN-04) released the following statement on the West Virginia National Guardsmen who were shot in Washington, D.C.:

“I was devastated to hear about the two West Virginia National Guardsmen who were senselessly shot in Washington, D.C., today. I ask everyone to join me in praying for the soldiers and their families. This attack on these Guardsmen is horrific and unacceptable. The men and women of our National Guard selflessly serve our country and have worked hard to make our nation’s capital safer for every American. Our prayers are with the Guardsmen, their units, and their families during this time. I thank the first responders and law enforcement officers for their quick response, and I hope the perpetrator is brought to swift justice.”
